Dr. Lopez-Leon holds five Board Certifications including in General Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Psychosomatic Psychiatry. He obtained his training from George Washington University, Johns Hopkins Medical Institutes, and the New York University School of Medicine. He has held office as President of the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry, The Society for Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Tri-State Chapter of The American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, and he has served as Chair of the Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. He currently is involved in a number of committees in several professional organizations including the American College of Psychiatrists, The American Academy of Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry.
